Unity vs. Co-Dependent Consciousness and Why Elders are the Missing Ingredient
Sensitive souls are often tuned to unity consciousness and the subtle energy that connects all beings to the matrix of life. It’s natural to feel the interconnectedness in our bodies, heart, and soul. But living in a world where the majority do not understand this connection leads to great confusion and pain. When life is void of spiritual guidance from wise elders and the practice of psycho-spiritual development through initiation is non-existent, human life takes a downward spiral into limiting and overbearing materialism.
When you see the world as interconnected, but the dominant culture sends the message that it’s not, deep spiritual confusion sets in, and co-dependence and people-pleasing can result. It’s natural to want those with whom you are connected and interdependent to be happy. Who with an open heart wouldn’t want everyone filled with love, joy, and peace? Especially when, through unity consciousness, the pain and loneliness of those surrounding you is deeply felt.
Those in an enlightened state tell you that they still feel the pain and suffering of the world, but they have developed spiritual mastery aligned with powerful wisdom and love that helps them rise above, but not disengage from, life. Most who have reached this state have done so with the guidance of seen and unseen teachers who guide their path and transmit wisdom and illumination, which the seeker then, through heartfelt devotion, digests and makes a reality in their being. The elders and their knowledge of initiation are the missing ingredients today.
Initiation is not to be taken lightly. It can’t be bought or proven with a weekend workshop certificate. Nor does it protect you from unexpected challenges. But with the guidance of an elder, you are taken through multiple levels of development, including bringing the ego into alignment with source; which means the ego becomes the expression of a healthy adult, both psychologically and spiritually. Between the elder and the spiritual lessons brought forth as initiations, you learn balance and clarity and understand where unity consciousness applies or not, which leads you away from becoming co-dependent or a people-pleasing doormat. Then, eventually, you become your own teacher and, one day, hopefully, the elder.
I long to be a true elder 🙂 Thank you for all the blessings over the years, Sara. You have made a difference in my life and the lives of my kids and continue to. I am so grateful.
Thank you Nicky, you are growing into an elder daily!
Great piece of writing and such needed ideas. To hear the word initiation and to know the process is a joy.
